2017-07-17*: reindentreindent-master-afterwhitespace / reindent
indent.py `git ls-files | pcregrep '\.[ch]$' | pcregrep -v '^(ldpd|babeld|nhrpd)/'` Signed-off-by: David Lamparter <equinox@opensourcerouting.org>
2017-06-29lib: more `show thread cpu`Quentin Young
Add support for naming pthreads. Also, note that we don't have any records yet if that's the case. Signed-off-by: Quentin Young <qlyoung@cumulusnetworks.com>
2017-06-21*: simplify log message lookupQuentin Young
log.c provides functionality for associating a constant (typically a protocol constant) with a string and finding the string given the constant. However this is highly delicate code that is extremely prone to stack overflows and off-by-one's due to requiring the developer to always remember to update the array size constant and to do so correctly which, as shown by example, is never a good idea.b The original goal of this code was to try to implement lookups in O(1) time without a linear search through the message array. Since this code is used 99% of the time for debugs, it's worth the 5-6 additional cmp's worst case if it means we avoid explitable bugs due to oversights... 2017-06-13*: Clean up call into inet_atonDonald Sharp
In the few places where we were not checking the return code for inet_aton, do so. Signed-off-by: Donald Sharp <sharpd@cumulusnetworks.com>
2017-05-15*: make consistent & update GPLv2 file headersDavid Lamparter
The FSF's address changed, and we had a mixture of comment styles for the GPL file header. (The style with * at the beginning won out with 580 to 141 in existing files.) Note: I've intentionally left intact other "variations" of the copyright header, e.g. whether it says "Zebra", "Quagga", "FRR", or nothing. Signed-off-by: David Lamparter <equinox@opensourcerouting.org>
2017-05-09*: remove THREAD_ON macros, add nullity checkQuentin Young
The way thread.c is written, a caller who wishes to be able to cancel a thread or avoid scheduling it twice must keep a reference to the thread. Typically this is done with a long lived pointer whose value is checked for null in order to know if the thread is currently scheduled. The check-and-schedule idiom is so common that several wrapper macros in thread.h existed solely to provide it. This patch removes those macros and adds a new parameter to all thread_add_* functions which is a pointer to the struct thread * to store the result of a scheduling call. If the value passed is non-null, the thread will only be scheduled if the value is null. This helps with consistency. A Coccinelle spatch has been used to transform code of the form: if (t == NULL) t = thread_add_* (...) to the form thread_add_* (..., &t) The THREAD_ON macros have also been transformed to the underlying thread.c calls. 2017-02-14ospfclient: fix gcc -O0 buildDavid Lamparter
the "static const" inside DECLARE_MTYPE still causes issues on gcc -O0 (re. gcc bug 69981). Work around by disabling MTYPE declarations for ospfclient. Signed-off-by: David Lamparter <equinox@opensourcerouting.org>
2017-02-09ospfclient: #include sourcesDavid Lamparter
Pulling in source files from another directory breaks automake's distclean target, and there seems to be no good fix for this... (particularly since we need -fPIC build for a DSO here, while ospfd compiles for an executable...) Signed-off-by: David Lamparter <equinox@opensourcerouting.org>
2017-02-07ospfd: isolate ospfapiclient lib from ospf libDavid Lamparter
The OSPF API-client library doesn't really use anything from libospf except some small dumping tools. Isolate these into a separate file and detangle the ospfapiclient library. Signed-off-by: David Lamparter <equinox@opensourcerouting.org>
2017-02-03*: Convert libospf -> libfrrospfDonald Sharp
Convert the libospfapiclient -> libfrrospfapiclient and libospf -> libfrrospf to prevent namespace collision with Quagga. Signed-off-by: Donald Sharp <sharpd@cumulusnetworks.com>
2017-02-03*: Convert libzebra -> libfrrDonald Sharp
The library libzebra that is installed with FRR will conflict with Quagga. So let's rename it to libfrr. Signed-off-by: Donald Sharp <sharpd@cumulusnetworks.com>
2016-09-19lib: migrate to new memory-type handlingDavid Lamparter
Move over to the new allocation counting added in the previous commit. (This commit is mostly mechanical.) Signed-off-by: David Lamparter <equinox@opensourcerouting.org> Acked-by: Vincent JARDIN <vincent.jardin@6wind.com>
2016-09-08quagga: remove refix directory from git statusDonald Sharp
During one of our build processes we are getting a refix directory in some places. Remove these from files that git considers Signed-off-by: Donald Sharp <sharpd@cumulusnetworks.com> (cherry picked from commit 844cbf5d6cdfc6961e99e1c9ed35b826f3aa7562)
2016-07-28*: get rid of "MTYPE 0"David Lamparter
A few places are using 0 in place of the MTYPE_* argument. The following rewrite of the alloc tracking won't deal with that, so let's use MTYPE_TMP instead. Acked-by: Vincent JARDIN <vincent.jardin@6wind.com> Acked-by: Donald Sharp <sharpd@cumulusnetworks.com> [DL: v2: fix XFREE(0, foo) calls too] Signed-off-by: David Lamparter <equinox@opensourcerouting.org>
2016-06-03build: get rid of INCLUDES, use AM_CPPFLAGSDavid Lamparter
INCLUDES in configure.ac was not used at all, and INCLUDES in Makefile.am is supposed to be AM_CPPFLAGS these days. Reduces warnings spewed during bootstrap/autoreconf. 2016-05-26build: make libraries self-reliantDavid Lamparter
libospf and libospfclient both need libzebra, so they should link against it. The days of libtool propagating upwards such dependencies are nearing their end... Signed-off-by: David Lamparter <equinox@opensourcerouting.org> (cherry picked from commit d8d5c60ecfab4dd609a07b4baa00d735f59002b9)
2016-05-26Add missing GPL headers, and copyright claims that certainly apply.Paul Jakma
* Fix (a subset of)? files with non-trivial code that are missing GPL headers. * A few copyright claims added which I am certain apply, but which I had missed out on the original commits. NB: Copyright claims are not exclusive and the addition of any copyright claim should not be read as implying a lack of any further claims, or denying the validity of any other claims. All those with claims of copyright over any portion of Quagga are welcome to submit them, ideally as patches to update copyright strings in files. (cherry picked from commit 010ebbbca6396f272cc2d50d147dd922dda68213)
2016-05-25build: Remove the old PIC/PIE patch, let libtool sort it outPaul Jakma
* Remove the old change from '08 to add in PIE arguments at automake level. Versions of libtool since then know how to deal with -fpie and do the right thing according to whether its building shared or executable objects. So just pass '-fpie' as CFLAG and let libtool do its thing.
2015-11-23Quagga: Fixup some compile warningsDonald Sharp

2015-07-25Add --enable-werror to configureDonald Sharp
2014-06-04*: nuke ^L (page feed)David Lamparter
Quagga sources have inherited a slew of Page Feed (^L, \xC) characters from ancient history. Among other things, these break patchwork's XML-RPC API because \xC is not a valid character in XML documents. Nuke them from high orbit. Patches can be adapted simply by: sed -e 's%^L%%' -i filename.patch (you can type page feeds in some environments with Ctrl-V Ctrl-L) Signed-off-by: David Lamparter <equinox@opensourcerouting.org>
2012-09-25build: correct libtool parameter used within MakefilesBrad Smith
This corrects the parameters passed to libtool when linking the shared libraries. The paramter name is -version-info not -version. Signed-off-by: David Lamparter <equinox@opensourcerouting.org>
2012-06-25build: allow configure and build in a separate directoryVincent Bernat
Some .h files in lib/ are autogenerated. The search path should include the build directory and the source directory. They usually match but sometimes, they may be different. For example: $ mkdir build $ cd build $ ../configure $ make

2007-05-10[autoconf] bugs 162,303,178: Fix 'present but can not be compiled' warningsPaul Jakma
2007-05-09 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com> * configure.ac: sys/conf.h depends on sys/param.h, at least on FBSD 6.2. (bug #363) Should check for in_pktinfo for IRDP 2006-05-27 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com> * configure.ac: General cleanup of header and type checks, introducing an internal define, QUAGGA_INCLUDES, to build up a list of stuff to include so as to avoid 'present but cant be compiled' warnings. Misc additional checks of things missing according to autoscan. Add LIBM, for bgpd's use of libm, so as to avoid burdening LIBS, and all the binaries, with libm linkage. Remove the bad practice of using m4 changequote(), just quote the []'s in the case statements properly. This should fix bugs 162, 303 and 178. * */*.{c,h}: Update all HAVE_* to the standard autoconf namespaced HAVE_* defines. I.e. 2004-07-09Update cvsignore's for *.lo and *.la - libtool filespaul
2004-06-30Add libtool support.gdt
libzebra and libospfapiclient are now built shared, and linked shared with the daemons. This reduces the memory needed when running multiple daemons; each daemon is at least 150k smaller. Static libraries are still built, and libtool should use them on platforms which don't have shared libaries. As with autoconf, the user of a distribution does not need libtool; one just needs that to build from CVS. libospf.a is still a non-shared library, and still installed, not because that makese sense, but because I don't understand why it is the way it is now. Note that the tree was tagged 'libtool-before' just before this commit.

* (many) reference <lib/version.h> rather than "version.h", because version.h is a generated file and not present in the source tree when using objdir builds. (committed by gdt) works fine with normal builds; didn't try objdir

2003-04-07Remove auto* files from the repository.paul
Developers working with the repository should have the appropriate tools. Out-of-sync files cause far too many problems with users as well as auto* scripts not being half as portable across systems as they ought to be. make-dist exists for a reason. Todo: make the CVS snapshot script do make-dist, and use the resulting tarball as the snapshot.
